Bethany sits on the western side of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and is almost completely surrounded by Oklahoma City itself. Its streets follow the grid that shapes much of central Oklahoma, with long straight roads running north–south and east–west at regular intervals. Residential blocks fill the spaces between them. Just west of town lies Lake Overholser, a reservoir on the North Canadian River.
The town was founded in the early twentieth century by members of the Church of the Nazarene. Its roots are still visible in Southern Nazarene University, whose campus sits within the town. Historic Route 66 also runs through the area along 39th Street, linking Bethany to the wider story of the old highway.
A Bethany map poster sets the precise grid of the suburb against the irregular shoreline of Lake Overholser. It is a clear, graphic composition typical of the Great Plains, but with a distinctive edge. For graduates of the university, long-time residents and Route 66 enthusiasts alike, it is a quiet, recognisable portrait of the town.
The reservoir on Bethany’s western edge forms a large, irregular body of water on the map and provides a natural counterweight to the grid.
The university campus is a visible open space within the town and is closely tied to Bethany’s origins as a Nazarene community.
Historic Route 66 passes through the area along 39th Street, a long straight line running east–west across the map.

Bethany means different things to different people: a college town, a family home, a stop on Route 66. A map poster holds all of those at once and brings a clean geometric pattern to any room.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle such as a graduation year, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9, and printed posters with optional wooden frames ship from local partners.
