Chēmanchēri lies on the Arabian Sea coast of Kozhikode district in northern Kerala, between the city of Kozhikode to the south and Koyilandy to the north. From above, the place looks less like a town with a centre than a settled strip of coast. Lanes branch off in irregular lines, houses sit among dense palm groves, and the shoreline runs as one clean edge along the western side of the map.
The best-known part of the area is Kappad beach, remembered as the stretch of coast near where Vasco da Gama came ashore in 1498. On paper that history is not a monument but a line: the sand meets the sea in a long, gentle curve. Inland, the pattern changes to the loose, branching network typical of Malabar villages, where roads follow older paths between compounds rather than a planned grid.
A Chēmanchēri map poster keeps that contrast between a steady coastline and an inland web of small roads. The main north–south route along the coast gives the composition a spine, and the lanes feed into it from both sides. Water, sand and settlement each read clearly in black and white. The result is a quiet, balanced print that says a lot about how coastal Kerala is laid out.
A long strip of sand on the western edge of the map, linked to the 1498 arrival of Vasco da Gama and still the landmark most people know Chēmanchēri for.
The main road between Kozhikode and Koyilandy runs north to south through the area, a firm line with village lanes branching off it towards the shore and inland.
Away from the main road, narrow lanes wind between houses and palm groves. They form an organic, irregular pattern that fills the map with fine, closely spaced detail.

For people from Chēmanchēri, or anyone who has spent an evening on the sand at Kappad, this map holds home, family and the coast in one frame. It is a quiet way to keep a Malabar village close, whether you live in Kerala, in the Gulf or further away.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name, a wedding date or the year you left. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits a place defined by its beach especially well.
