Chendrappini is on a long, narrow strip of Kerala's coast, and its map is defined by two parallel edges. On the west is the straight line of the Arabian Sea shore; to the east are backwaters and canals. Between them, roads and lanes run mostly along the coast, with short side lanes leading to houses set among coconut palms.
The village belongs to Thrissur district, on the stretch of coast between Kodungallur and Thrissur's northern shore. Like much of coastal Kerala, it is densely settled without looking urban: houses are spread evenly along the lanes, and fishing, small trade and remittances from family working abroad all shape local life.
