Ko e mape
Cotia lies west of São Paulo, in the metropolitan region. From above, its street pattern is shaped by hills, with roads that wind along ridges and valleys rather than following a grid. The Raposo Tavares highway crosses the municipality, and much of the settlement has grown along it and its branches.
Cotia has a long agricultural history, and in the twentieth century it became associated with Japanese immigrant farmers and the Cooperativa Agrícola de Cotia, once one of the largest agricultural cooperatives in Brazil. The municipality includes the Morro Grande forest reserve, a large area of Atlantic Forest protecting water sources for the region.
A Cotia map poster shows a mix of dense neighbourhoods, gated residential areas and wide green spaces. The winding roads and the reservoirs make the composition softer and more organic than that of the city next door. It is a map with a lot of variation.
The highway crosses Cotia and serves as its main axis. Many neighbourhoods and roads branch off it, giving the map a clear structure.
A large protected area of Atlantic Forest leaves an extensive, mostly empty green shape on the map, with reservoirs in it.
Roads follow the hilly terrain, creating curving lines and cul-de-sacs rather than a regular grid.

Ko e hā ʻa Cotia
Many people moved to Cotia for more space and greenery while staying close to São Paulo. A map of the neighbourhood marks that choice and the home that came with it.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates. Paper and Sand bring out the organic shapes of the roads, while Classic black & white keeps the look sharp.
