Cruzília lies in the south of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in the hilly region known as Sul de Minas. From above, the town fits into rolling terrain. Its centre is arranged around a main square and church, with streets that bend and climb as they follow the ridges and valleys around them.
The surrounding countryside is pasture and farmland, and the area has a special place in Brazilian equestrian culture. It is closely associated with the origins of the Mangalarga Marchador, the national saddle horse breed, developed on historic farms in this part of Minas Gerais. Rural roads reach out from town toward those estates.
A Cruzília map poster shows a small country town in the Minas hills, with a compact core, curving streets and a broad frame of rural roads. The terrain appears in the shape of the lines rather than shading, so the result is gentle and organic.
A main square and church form the heart of the town. Streets radiate and curve outward from it across the hillside.
The streets follow ridges and valleys, so the map has a soft, flowing pattern rather than a strict grid.
The region is linked to the origins of the Mangalarga Marchador breed, and rural roads lead out to the farms around town.
