El Campello stretches along the Costa Blanca just north of Alicante, and its map is defined by the coast. A long, gently curving shoreline runs from southwest to northeast, backed by a seafront promenade. Behind it, apartment blocks and streets pack into a band that narrows as the land climbs toward dry hills.
Near the old fishing quarter, a small rocky headland juts into the sea. This is L'Illeta dels Banyets, an archaeological site with remains going back thousands of years, and an old watchtower stands close by.
