Roman grid
The historic centre keeps its ancient rectangular layout. The Via Appia is its main axis, and the regular blocks stand out clearly among later streets.

Fondi lies on a wide plain in the south of Lazio, between the mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The ancient Via Appia passes through the town, and its route becomes the main street of the old centre. The historic core still follows a rectangular Roman plan. On the map it shows as a small, tidy grid set within later, looser growth.
The Caetani castle stands at the edge of the old town, a reminder of the town's medieval importance. Around Fondi, the plain is covered with farmland, particularly citrus groves and vegetable fields. The town is also known for its large wholesale fruit and vegetable market.
A Fondi map poster places the Roman grid at the centre. Around it are the straight lines of drainage channels and farm roads across the reclaimed plain, and toward the sea, the shape of Lake Fondi and the coastline appear. It is a map that shows two thousand years of planning in a single frame.

Plain of Fondi
Flat farmland surrounds the town. Straight field roads and drainage channels form a geometric pattern across the plain toward the sea.
Lake and coast
Lake Fondi and the nearby coastline add broad, smooth shapes on the seaward side and balance the dense town centre.

Fondi appeals to anyone who loves Italian towns with visible history. Its Roman grid is easy to spot and quietly remarkable, and it sits between mountains, groves and sea.
Add a title, a subtitle and your own coordinates line. Sand and Paper suit the warm Mediterranean setting. Classic black & white and Noir emphasise the geometry. Blueprint works well for lovers of planning.
