Garzón sits in the Huila countryside, where the Magdalena valley narrows between the Central and Eastern ranges of the Andes. From above, the town is a compact street grid laid over rising ground. A central plaza anchors the blocks, and roads leave town toward the river lowlands and the hills. At the edges, the lie of the land shapes the town more than any planned boundary does.
The town is the seat of a Catholic diocese, and its cathedral faces the main square in the colonial arrangement of church, plaza and grid. Nearby, the Magdalena was dammed for the El Quimbo hydroelectric project, and the reservoir changed the shape of the river on regional maps. Around the urban core, rural roads run through pasture, farmland and small coffee plots on the hillsides.
A Garzón map poster keeps all of this in a restrained black-and-white drawing: the dense lines of the centre, the looser pattern of the outskirts and the waterways that tie the town to the wider valley. It suits people who grew up in Huila, those who studied or worked there, and anyone who likes the orderly plan of an Andean market town.
The centre follows the colonial pattern of a main square surrounded by regular blocks. The cathedral fronts the plaza, and straight streets run out from it toward the edges of town.
The upper Magdalena runs through the lowlands nearby. Its course, together with the El Quimbo reservoir upstream of Neiva, draws a strong line of water across the surrounding map.
Beyond the built-up area the ground rises toward the cordilleras, and winding rural roads trace the hillsides through farmland, pasture and coffee plots.

Ko e hā ʻa Garzón
For families from Huila, a map of Garzón keeps home in view: the plaza where people met, the streets walked to school, the road down toward the river. The drawing is quiet enough to hang in a living room or hallway without competing with anything around it.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or a date that matters, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital download includes six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a PDF.
