Glan is a municipality in Sarangani province, on the island of Mindanao, located on the eastern shore of Sarangani Bay. From above the town centre sits close to the water, with streets running parallel to the coast and short roads reaching down to the shoreline, while the land behind rises into hills and farmland.
The long coastline is Glan's defining feature. The municipality is known for its beaches, especially the white sand of Gumasa, which draws visitors from nearby General Santos and beyond. On a map the shore appears as a gently curving edge, broken by small inlets and river mouths, with the open bay taking up much of the frame.
