Görükle lies in the Nilüfer district, on the western side of Bursa, on flat land that stretches away from the city towards farmland. It has changed greatly since Uludağ University established its main campus here, and the map now shows a mix of village roots and rapid growth: an older core, new apartment blocks, and a large campus with its own internal roads.
The campus occupies a broad area of the map, with faculty buildings, sports grounds and paths arranged across open ground in a pattern distinct from the surrounding streets. Around it, the residential neighbourhoods follow a fairly regular grid of apartment blocks, many of them home to students, with shops and cafés along the main roads.
To the east rises the long ridge of Uludağ, the mountain that gives the university its name and dominates the whole Bursa plain. A Görükle map poster captures a place shaped by learning, where a village has become a district defined by its campus and by the students who pass through it.
