Grandville sits just southwest of Grand Rapids, where the Grand River bends toward Lake Michigan. From above, the river marks the northern edge of the city. Low, wooded bottomland runs beside the water, and residential blocks rise gently away from it. Most streets follow the square survey grid of the Midwest, bent here and there by creeks and older roads that once followed the river.
Interstate 196 is the strongest line on the map. It crosses the city on a long diagonal and throws off cloverleaf and ramp shapes at its exits. On either side, the fine grid of older neighbourhoods meets the looser curves of newer subdivisions. Large retail parcels near the highway show up as broad blank blocks, which contrast well with the dense housing streets around them.
A Grandville map poster works best with the river kept inside the frame. The pale band of water and floodplain along the top gives the composition a natural horizon. The interstate adds movement across the middle, and the suburban blocks fill the rest with an even texture. The finished print looks settled and orderly, like the Grand River valley town it shows.

I-196 cuts across Grandville at an angle, against the grain of the local grid. Its interchange loops are among the most graphic shapes in the whole composition.
Away from the highway, streets settle into the right-angled grid typical of Michigan towns. Curving cul-de-sacs from later decades are scattered through it.

For people who grew up in Grandville, or who commute daily between it and Grand Rapids, this map shows familiar ground: the river, the highway and the streets between them. It suits a hallway or home office where you want something personal but quiet.
You can add a title, a subtitle such as a family name or a year, and a coordinates line. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9, and printed posters are available with an optional wooden frame.
