Gundlupēt is a town in Chamarajanagar district in southern Karnataka, on the main road from Mysuru toward the Nilgiris and Kerala. From above, the town is compact, with a busy central area along the highway and residential streets spreading out behind it. Beyond these lie wide agricultural fields.
The town is best known as the gateway to Bandipur National Park, one of India's important tiger reserves, which begins a short drive to the south. The hill of Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta, with its temple, rises nearby. The fields around Gundlupēt are known for seasonal crops of sunflowers and marigolds.
