Hvidovre lies just southwest of central Copenhagen, and on the map it reads as a carpet of suburban streets: short residential roads lined with detached houses, interrupted by larger blocks of flats, schools and sports grounds. Main roads cut through in long straight lines toward the city, and the S-train line adds another firm stroke. To the east the land ends at the shallow waters of Kalveboderne.
The municipality grew rapidly during the twentieth century as Copenhagen expanded outward, turning former farmland into planned neighbourhoods. Today it is known for Hvidovre Hospital, one of the larger hospitals in the capital region, and for its local football club, Hvidovre IF. Green belts and allotment gardens break up the housing and give the map its pale patches.
A Hvidovre map poster captures that ordered, lived-in suburban texture, where hundreds of small streets repeat without ever becoming monotonous. The coastline gives the composition a clean edge, and the open spaces around sports fields and parks let the drawing breathe. It is a portrait of everyday Copenhagen life rather than postcard sights, which is exactly its appeal.
The eastern edge of Hvidovre meets the shallow channel between Zealand and Amager, a flat waterline that gives the map a calm, open border against the density of streets.
Large areas are filled with small curving roads and cul-de-sacs of detached houses, forming a fine, even pattern typical of Danish suburbs built in the mid-twentieth century.
The S-train line and major roads toward central Copenhagen run through the suburb in firm straight lines, dividing the residential pattern into distinct neighbourhoods.

Ko e hā ʻa Hvidovre
Hvidovre is where many Copenhageners grew up, bought a first house or raised children. A map of those streets is a personal document, and its quiet geometry suits a Scandinavian interior well.
Set your own title, a subtitle such as a street name or year, and the coordinates line, then choose from five styles. Download HD files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
