Irondequoit is a town just north of Rochester, New York, and its outline on the map is unusually clear. Lake Ontario forms the northern edge, the deep inlet of Irondequoit Bay closes the east, and the Genesee River runs along the west on its way to the lake, leaving the town as a well-defined block of land.
Inside those boundaries the street pattern is largely suburban grid, with longer north-south roads and residential neighbourhoods built through the twentieth century. Toward the water the grid gives way to bluffs, wooded slopes and parks, including Durand Eastman Park along the lakeshore.
An Irondequoit map poster shows how neatly water frames a place: the long lake coast, the narrow, elongated bay and the river valley, with houses and streets filling the middle. Near the bay's outlet, the Seabreeze amusement park has operated since the late nineteenth century, one of the oldest in the country.
The long, narrow bay forms the eastern boundary of the town and opens to Lake Ontario, one of the most distinctive shapes on the map.
The northern edge is the open coastline of Lake Ontario, with Durand Eastman Park occupying wooded ground along the lake.
The river runs along the western side toward its mouth at the lake, separating Irondequoit from the neighbourhoods of Rochester opposite.

Irondequoit is a place people tend to stay in or come back to, for the lake, the bay and the neighbourhoods near them. A map of the town suits a family home or someone who moved away and misses summers on the water.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates with your street name or a special date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
