Jędrzejów is a town in the Świętokrzyskie region of southern Poland, between Kielce and Kraków. On a map, it follows a classic pattern of Polish towns: a central market square with streets radiating outward, surrounded by later neighbourhoods. The abbey, founded in the twelfth century, is among the oldest Cistercian foundations in Poland and forms a distinct complex at the edge of the centre.
