Kalānaur is a town in the Rohtak district of Haryana, on the flat alluvial plain northwest of Delhi. From above there is little relief to shape it. The town is defined by how closely its buildings sit together, a dense core surrounded by a patchwork of cultivated fields that stretches to the horizon in almost every direction.
The older part of town is a mesh of narrow lanes, short, irregular and often turning at sharp angles, the pattern of a settlement that grew house by house.
