Ko e mape
Karmi'el was founded in 1964 as a planned city in the Galilee, in the north of Israel. It stands on the hills above the Beit HaKerem valley, the natural divide between Upper and Lower Galilee, and the city is widely known for the Karmiel Dance Festival, a large annual event of folk and contemporary dance.
Because it was designed from scratch, the map shows a deliberate structure: neighbourhoods built on separate hills and ridges, each with its own curving streets, linked by main roads that follow the terrain. Green valleys and parks lie between them, and a main road runs along the valley below, with the railway now reaching the city too.
A Karmi'el map poster reveals this pattern clearly. Instead of a dense core, the city appears as a series of distinct clusters arranged across the landscape, their curving streets tracing the contours of the hills. The effect is balanced and airy, typical of Israeli planned towns.
Each district sits on its own rise, with streets looping around the slopes, so the map shows several separate clusters rather than one core.
The valley below the city carries the main transport routes, forming a strong linear band along the edge of the poster.
Parks and wadis separate the neighbourhoods, leaving pale open shapes that give the composition room to breathe.

Ko e hā ʻa Karmi’el
Karmi'el is a city many people chose to build their lives in, and many others came to for the dance festival. A map of its hills and neighbourhoods marks that relationship in a calm, lasting way.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a year or a name, and pick one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files are $9, printed posters are also available.
