Keighley lies in West Yorkshire where the River Worth joins the Aire. The town fills the valley floor and climbs the hillsides on both sides. From above, rows of terraced houses follow the contour lines, and the old mill sites sit low beside the water where they once drew power.
Keighley grew on the textile trade, and its layout still shows it. Long industrial buildings line the valley bottom, while housing rises in tight parallel streets up the slopes. Higher still, the streets thin out into open moorland, which on a map reads as an almost blank edge.
The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, a heritage steam line, runs up the Worth valley toward Haworth, home of the Brontë family. A Keighley map poster follows those two valleys into the Pennine hills, with the town set exactly where they meet.
The Worth flows into the Aire at Keighley, giving the town a Y-shaped outline that follows the valley floors into the hills.
Parallel rows of stone terraces climb the hillsides. On the poster they form fine, even bands of lines across the higher ground.
The steam line runs south up the Worth valley toward Haworth, a thin thread leaving the town and heading into the moors.

The map works for people with Yorkshire roots, walkers who know the moors above the town, and readers drawn to Brontë country. It shows the valleys and the settlement in a way you cannot see from street level.
