Limache lies in the Marga Marga province of the Valparaíso region, in a fertile valley between the coastal hills and the Andes. The town stretches along the valley floor, following the course of the Estero Limache, and the hills close in on either side. From above, it appears as an elongated urban area surrounded by farmland.
The town is the eastern terminus of the Valparaíso metro, the regional rail line that runs down the valley to the coast.
