Lola lies in Guinée Forestière, the green, hilly south-east of Guinea, close to where the country meets Côte d'Ivoire and Liberia. It is the nearest town to Mount Nimba. The range's strict nature reserve, shared across the border, is listed by UNESCO for its unusual mountain ecology.
The town's layout on a map is organic. Main roads come in from Nzérékoré and the border crossings, and residential quarters grow out from them in irregular blocks. Around town, tracks lead through farmland and forest toward villages on the lower slopes. The street pattern gets looser as it moves away from the centre, so the edges look soft.
A Lola map poster suits people connected to the Forest Region, whether they are from here or once worked near Nimba. The design stays simple and truthful: roads, quarters and the country around them, framed by coordinates that point to one of West Africa's great mountain landscapes.
Lola is the usual approach to the Mount Nimba reserve, and roads leading south-east from town head toward the mountain's forested slopes.
Routes from Nzérékoré and the nearby borders meet in town, giving the map a clear centre from which the quarters spread outward.
Toward the edges, streets turn into tracks and garden plots, a soft transition that frames the denser core.
