Lukaya is a town in Uganda's Central Region, in Kalungu District, on the main highway between Kampala and Masaka. It lies just south of the equator. On a map, the highway is the town's spine: streets and plots spread out on either side, and the road continues in both directions toward the capital and the south-west.
The land around Lukaya is low and green, with wetlands and papyrus swamps typical of the country near Lake Victoria alongside small farms.
