Macaíba lies a short distance west of Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte, on the Jundiaí River. From above, the river's winding course and its lowland floodplain run through the town, and streets climb onto the slightly higher ground on either side. Main roads to Natal and the interior pass through and give the plan its principal directions.
The town grew as a river port and trading point for the surrounding sugar and farming region. The ruins of the Ferreiro Torto sugar mill, one of the oldest in the state, stand nearby. Macaíba is also the birthplace of Augusto Severo, a Brazilian pioneer of airship flight.
A Macaíba map poster suits people from the town and from greater Natal who see Macaíba as more than a suburb. It shows a compact centre on a riverbend, roads branching toward the capital and the countryside, and the Jundiaí meandering across the page.
The river winds through the town on its way toward Natal, forming a soft, curving line across the centre of the print.
The historic core sits close to the water, where the town first grew as a small river port and trading point.
Highways link Macaíba to the state capital and the interior, drawing strong lines outward from the compact centre.

Ko e hā ʻa Macaíba
For people from Macaíba, the town has its own history, separate from Natal next door. A map of its river and streets marks that identity clearly and fits well in a living room or a home office.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, with a family name or the year of a move, for example. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand works well for this warm coastal region.
