Malavalli is a town in Mandya district in southern Karnataka, in the Kaveri basin south-west of Bengaluru, on a plain watered by canals from the river system. The town's streets form a compact centre, with roads running out toward neighbouring towns and villages. Around it, the map is filled with irrigated fields, small reservoirs and the looser pattern of rural lanes.
The Shivanasamudra falls lie a short distance to the south, where the Kaveri divides around an island and drops in two cascades. In 1902 one of the first hydroelectric stations in Asia was built there, supplying power to the Kolar Gold Fields. Malavalli also gave its name to a battle fought in 1799 during the final war against Tipu Sultan.
A Malavalli map poster centres on the town's dense core and the network of roads and irrigation channels around it, with the tanks and water bodies of the district drawn as clean shapes. It is a calm, rural composition, suited to anyone with family in Mandya district or a fondness for the Kaveri country.
Malavalli's streets gather into a compact core where the main roads meet, the densest part of the map and the natural focal point of the composition.
Canals and small tanks water the surrounding fields of sugarcane and paddy, adding fine lines and soft-edged shapes across the countryside around the town.
Routes lead south from the town toward Shivanasamudra, where the Kaveri splits and falls, linking Malavalli to one of Karnataka's best-known natural sites.

For people from Malavalli and the villages of Mandya district, the map of the town is a direct link to family and home. It is a quiet and lasting way to keep that connection visible in a flat in Bengaluru or abroad.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family or village name, and add a date or edit the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, to match the room and the frame.
