Manado spreads around a broad bay on the northern tip of Sulawesi, facing the Celebes Sea. The city fills a narrow coastal plain and climbs into the hills behind it, so streets near the water are dense and regular while those inland twist along ridges and valleys. Several small rivers cut down to the bay, and a reclaimed waterfront strip runs along the shoreline.
Offshore lie the islands of Bunaken National Park, known for coral walls and diving, and the cone of Manado Tua, a volcanic island rising straight out of the sea. Manado is the capital of North Sulawesi and a centre of Minahasa culture, with a cuisine known across Indonesia for dishes such as tinutuan, a vegetable porridge.
A Manado map poster frames the city against the wide curve of the bay, with the islands sitting at the edge of the page. The contrast between the coastal grid and the winding hillside streets gives the print a sense of depth, even when it is rendered in flat black and white.
The shoreline sweeps in a long arc along the city's western side, a smooth coastline that sets the shape of the whole composition.
A strip of reclaimed land along the bay carries the coastal road and newer development, visible as a straight edge laid over the natural shore.
Depending on the frame, Bunaken and the round volcanic island of Manado Tua appear across the water as solid shapes in an open sea.

Ko e hā ʻa Manado
Manado is a place divers remember and many Minahasa families call home. A map of its bay, hills and islands carries both perspectives, and works well as a wide print above a sofa or bed.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a dive trip or a family date, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the frame first.
