Manisa has a clear dividing line. To the south, Mount Spil rises steeply, with the old town packed against its lower slopes. To the north, the city opens onto the Gediz plain, where the streets become straighter and the blocks larger. Farmland stretches beyond. On a map, the mountain edge and the level plain make an unmistakable contrast.
In Ottoman times, Manisa was where young princes were sent to govern and learn statecraft, and several future sultans spent part of their youth here. Mosques and complexes from that period still stand in the older quarters. Each spring the city holds the Mesir festival, when a traditional spiced paste is thrown to crowds from the Sultan Mosque.
A Manisa map poster shows a city balanced between two landscapes. Winding lanes climb the mountain's slopes in the south, while the regular grid of the newer districts spreads across the plain to the north. Seen in black and white, the city seems to lean against the mountain and look out across the valley.
The mountain rises directly behind the old town. It sets a hard southern boundary and pushes the older streets into steep, curving lines.
North of the centre, the land flattens into a wide agricultural valley. Here the city grows in straighter, more regular blocks.
The older districts hold Ottoman mosques and complexes from the era when future sultans governed here.

Manisa appeals to people from the Aegean region and to anyone who knows its mountain and plain. The sharp line between slope and valley gives the print a strong structure.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files for six print sizes are $9 and come without a watermark. You can also order a printed poster on matte paper.
