Medvedevo is an urban-type settlement in the Mari El Republic, adjoining Yoshkar-Ola, the republic's capital. From above it reads as a continuation of the city, with residential streets and blocks spreading westward before the built area gives way to the forests that cover much of the region. The boundary between Medvedevo and the capital is hard to see on the map.
