Molepolole lies in the Kweneng District of Botswana, west of Gaborone, on gently rising ground where the eastern hardveld begins to give way to the Kalahari. It is one of the largest villages in the country and the traditional capital of the Bakwena. From above, the settlement spreads widely, with homesteads and plots scattered over a large area rather than packed into a dense centre.
Like other large Tswana villages, Molepolole is organised into wards, each historically associated with a family group and its own meeting place. On the map this shows as a loose, cellular pattern of clusters connected by winding roads, with the main tarred routes running more directly toward Gaborone and further into the Kalahari.
The village is home to the Scottish Livingstone Hospital, whose name recalls the missionary David Livingstone, who worked among the Bakwena in the region in the nineteenth century. Newer housing and government buildings have filled in along the main roads in recent decades. A Molepolole map poster captures the open, spacious form of a settlement shaped by tradition and landscape rather than by a planned grid.

The main road east toward the capital runs as a long, clear line out of the village, anchoring newer shops and services along its length.
To the west the land opens into sparse savanna, with few roads and wide empty spaces that give the map a strong sense of distance and quiet.

For Bakwena families and anyone who grew up in Molepolole, the village is more than a location on a map. A poster shows the whole spread of the place, the wards, the roads and the open land, as a single picture of home.
Add a family name, a ward or a meaningful date to the title and subtitle, and personalise the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files or order a printed poster.
