Mukono lies just east of Kampala in Uganda's Central Region. It is built along the main highway toward Jinja and the source of the Nile. The land rises and falls in the rounded hills typical of the Lake Victoria basin. Streets run along ridges and down into green valleys, and the highway forms the town's main axis and commercial strip.
The town is home to Uganda Christian University, whose campus is one of Mukono's defining features. The university has drawn students from across the country for decades. As Kampala has grown, Mukono has become part of its wider metropolitan area, and new residential areas spread over the surrounding hills.
A Mukono map poster shows a town in the process of joining a capital region. The main highway runs through the middle, local roads branch onto the hills, and swampy valley bottoms stay open between them. The varied, organic street pattern gives the poster warmth and a sense of gentle movement.
The main highway runs through Mukono and forms its commercial spine, the strongest line on the map, connecting it with the capital and the east.
Uganda Christian University occupies a large site in the town. Its grounds and internal paths make a distinctive open shape among the streets.
Rounded hills separated by wetland valleys shape where roads can go. The result is a loose, branching layout typical of the region.

Many people remember Mukono as their university town. A map of it makes a meaningful graduation present or a memento of years spent on its hills, and it suits families who have settled there from Kampala just as well.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a class year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Classic black & white keeps the hillside roads clean and clear.
