Paiporta lies just south of Valencia in the comarca of Horta Sud, part of the belt of towns that has grown up among the irrigated farmland around the city. The map shows a compact, densely built town, with apartment blocks and narrow streets filling almost every available space. Beyond the edges, the orchards and fields of the huerta are crossed by old irrigation channels.
The town is divided by the Barranco del Poyo, a broad ravine that is usually dry but can carry sudden floodwater from the hills inland. In October 2024 it overflowed during a severe storm, and Paiporta was among the places hardest hit. The ravine remains the defining feature of the town's plan, spanned by several bridges.
