Palmar de Varela is a municipality in the Atlántico department of northern Colombia, set on the flat plain that stretches south from Barranquilla along the western bank of the Magdalena River. From above, the town reads as a tight cluster of rectangular blocks, the kind of regular street pattern common to towns in the Colombian Caribbean, and it thins quickly into open land.
The dominant line on any map of the area is the Magdalena itself, Colombia's principal river, which passes close to the town's eastern side on its final stretch toward the sea. The regional road that follows the river links Palmar de Varela with its neighbours along the bank, so the town sits on a corridor of small settlements strung between the highway and the water.
A Palmar de Varela map poster keeps this simple arrangement in view: the dense, orderly core, the road running north and south, and the wide sweep of river beyond. Around the edges, the drawing loosens into tracks, field boundaries and low wetland ground typical of the lower Magdalena, giving the sheet a quiet balance between built blocks and open plain.
Colombia's great river passes just east of town on its way to the Caribbean, drawn as a broad band that frames the whole composition and gives the map its strongest line.
The centre is laid out in near-rectangular blocks of similar size, a steady pattern of short streets that fills the middle of the poster with even, fine texture.
A regional road runs parallel to the river, connecting Palmar de Varela with neighbouring towns of the Atlántico riverbank and cutting a clear line through the surrounding lowland.

For people who grew up here or have family roots in the Atlántico riverbank towns, this map is a plain, honest portrait of home: the streets walked every day and the river that shapes the region. It works well in a hallway or living room as a quiet reminder of where someone comes from.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name, a meaningful date or a short dedication, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster, with an optional wooden frame.
