Pariaman lies on the west coast of Sumatra, north of Padang, where the land drops gently to the Indian Ocean. On a map the shore is long and nearly straight, and the town runs along it, with streets parallel to the beach and short roads connecting them. Small rivers reach the sea through the town, and a few islands lie just offshore.
The railway from Padang runs up the coast to Pariaman, and its line is one of the town's clear features. A Pariaman map poster shows the rail, the coast road and the grid of streets between them, with rice fields and coconut groves filling the flatter land inland.
Pariaman is best known for Tabuik, an annual procession during the month of Muharram. Large decorated towers are carried through the streets and finally taken to the sea. The festival links the town closely to its shoreline. The map shows that relationship too, with the town facing directly onto the beach where the procession ends.
A long, gently curving beach forms the western edge of the map and meets the open ocean, a strong, simple line.
The line from Padang follows the coast into town. The track makes a thin, steady line through the map, parallel to the shore.
Small islands sit a short way out from the coast. They appear as quiet shapes in the open water beyond the town.

Ko e hā ʻa Pariaman
For people from the Minangkabau coast, or anyone who has watched Tabuik reach the sea, Pariaman's simple beachside layout carries strong memories. The clean shoreline gives the poster a calm, balanced composition.
You can add a family name or a festival year to the title, write your own subtitle and edit the coordinates. Sand and Paper suit the beach setting well.
