Remígio lies in the Brejo region of Paraíba, on the higher ground of the Borborema plateau. The town is compact, with a small core of streets around its main square and church. The roads run outwards across the gently hilly land. The higher altitude gives this area a milder, greener landscape than the dry interior, and this shows on the map as farmland and scattered woodland around the town.
The town is part of a cluster of small municipalities in the Brejo, a region traditionally associated with sugar cane, cachaça production and agriculture on its fertile slopes. Remígio serves as a local centre for the surrounding rural communities.
