Richmond West is an unincorporated community in southwestern Miami-Dade County, part of the wide suburban belt that extends inland from Biscayne Bay towards the Everglades. The map is shaped by the county's numbered grid, with major streets and avenues set at regular intervals, and the space between them filled with residential subdivisions of curving roads and cul-de-sacs.
This contrast gives the map its character: the straight section-line roads form a large framework of squares, while inside each square the residential streets loop and branch in their own patterns.
