Rumāḩ lies in the Riyadh Region, northeast of the capital, on flat ground with few natural obstacles. From the air it is a planned town of broad streets and rectangular blocks. The edges are crisp: the grid simply ends, and the land beyond continues as open desert marked by tracks, fenced farm plots and the long straight lines of roads heading toward the horizon.
The town is the centre of its own governorate, a large area of desert plains and seasonal valleys. The wider area is known for camel herding and for the open landscape that draws people from Riyadh for winter camping. Both show on the map as sparse lines and wide empty ground, so the town itself becomes a small, sharply defined shape in the middle of the frame.
