Sainte-Marie sits on the northern shore of Réunion, just east of Saint-Denis, where the island's volcanic mass meets the Indian Ocean. From above, the commune reads as a wedge. A narrow coastal band of streets and neighbourhoods comes first, then a steady rise of farmland and ravines toward the forested heights. The main roads mostly follow the coast, while smaller lanes climb the slope in long, deliberate lines.
The most recognisable shape on the map is the long straight runway of Roland Garros Airport, the island's main gateway, which lies within the commune beside the sea. Around it, residential quarters, commercial zones and older village centres fill the flat ground. The ravines that cut down from the mountains break the street pattern into separate pieces, and each piece has its own small network.
A Sainte-Marie map poster keeps all of this in plain lines. The ocean edge becomes a clean boundary and the runway a bold stroke, while the finer weave of streets thins out as the land climbs. It suits anyone who has landed here, lived along this coast or knows the drive east from Saint-Denis well enough to picture it with their eyes closed.
Roland Garros Airport lies within Sainte-Marie. Its runway draws a long straight bar parallel to the shoreline, the most geometric element on an otherwise organic map.
The commune's northern edge is open Indian Ocean, so the map has one clean, unbroken boundary where the dense coastal streets simply stop at the water.
Gullies carved by rain from the interior run down toward the sea and split neighbourhoods apart. The upper map is left sparse, with roads tracing the terrain instead of a grid.

For people with ties to Réunion, this is the northern coast in one frame: the place of arrivals and departures, of family homes along the shore, of the road that links it to the capital. Printed large, the contrast between dense coastal streets and the open slopes carries the whole composition.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can carry a name, a date or a note of your choosing, and the map comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a matte print, framed or unframed.
