Setti Fatma lies high in the Ourika Valley, in the High Atlas south of Marrakesh, where the road up the valley comes to an end. From above there is no grid at all. Houses and terraces cling to the slopes in narrow bands, and the village stretches along the river because the mountains leave room for little else.
The valley is known for its series of waterfalls, reached by paths that climb the side gorges above the village, and for the cafés on the riverbanks where walkers stop on the way up. Each summer the village also holds a moussem, a traditional gathering linked to a local saint. On the map all of this reads as a thin line of settlement and a web of footpaths.
A Setti Fatma map poster captures a place shaped by terrain. The single road, the braided river and the tight clusters of buildings form a delicate composition, with empty space all around where the slopes rise. It suits anyone who has made the day trip from Marrakesh or hiked in the Atlas, and it looks quietly different from any city print.
The river runs through the whole village, braided across a stony bed, with buildings and terraces lined up on both banks. It is the spine every other line on the map follows.
The valley road climbs from the plain and stops here. On the poster it arrives as one winding line and ends among the houses, which gives the composition a clear sense of arrival.
Footpaths leave the village and climb the steep side valleys toward the waterfalls. On the map they show as fine, zigzagging threads crossing otherwise empty mountain ground.

Ko e hā ʻa Setti Fatma
For many visitors, Setti Fatma is the moment Morocco turns from city to mountains. A map of it is a subtle souvenir: it holds the memory of a hike or a lunch by the river without the usual postcard imagery, and it sits comfortably in a modern interior.
