Sodegaura lies on the eastern shore of Tokyo Bay in Chiba Prefecture, and its map begins with a hard, straight coastline. Much of the waterfront is reclaimed land, cut into large rectangular blocks separated by channels and occupied by heavy industry and energy facilities that form part of the Keiyo industrial zone. From above these shapes look almost architectural, a row of geometric peninsulas pushing into the bay.
Inland the picture changes completely. Residential districts around the railway stations give way to narrow valleys planted with rice and to low, wooded hills where roads twist along the ridges. Small rivers wind toward the bay through this landscape, and the contrast between the engineered coast and the organic interior is what makes the city so distinctive on paper.
Sodegaura is also home to Tokyo German Village, a theme park and flower garden set among the hills, and the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line comes ashore at nearby Kisarazu, linking the area to Kawasaki across the water. A Sodegaura map poster brings the industrial shore and the quiet countryside into one frame, with the bay as its broad, empty edge.

Behind the coastal plain, narrow valleys of paddy fields wind between the hills, their flat floors contrasting with the tangle of wooded slopes around them.
The Tokyo German Village theme park sits in the hills inland, a cluster of gardens and open grounds that stands out amid the surrounding farmland and forest.

Ko e hā ʻa Sodegaura
A map of Sodegaura appeals to people who work along the bay, commute across it or grew up in the valleys behind it. The pairing of rigid industrial coastline and soft rural hills makes a composition that looks deliberate, almost like a technical drawing.
Blueprint suits the engineered shoreline especially well, though Noir, Paper, Sand and Classic black & white are equally available. Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, then download 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9 or order a matte print, framed if you like.
