Springdale sits in the Northwest Arkansas corridor between Fayetteville and Rogers, and its map reflects decades of fast growth. A small historic downtown along Emma Avenue anchors the older blocks. Newer subdivisions with curving streets spread east and west, separated by commercial strips and the long sweep of Interstate 49.
Spring Creek and other streams cut through the city. The Razorback Greenway, a long paved trail linking the region's cities, follows green corridors through town. These lines of trees and water soften the grid and give an organic touch to what would otherwise be a mostly rectilinear plan.
