Tcholliré lies in Cameroon's North Region and serves as the administrative centre of the Mayo-Rey department. Seen from above, it is a low, spread-out town set in wooded savanna, where the built area thins quickly into fields, scrub and tracks. The map shows a handful of main roads converging on the centre, with a looser network of residential streets filling the land between them.
The surrounding department is one of the most sparsely settled parts of the country, known for large protected areas and traditional chieftaincies that have long shaped local life. Seasonal watercourses, called mayos in the region, cross the landscape and swell during the rainy months, leaving their mark on the map as thin lines that the roads either follow or cross.
A Tcholliré map poster is a spare, open composition. Instead of a dense grid, it shows how a regional town organises itself around a few arteries, with compounds and open plots in between. Printed in black and white, the balance of line and empty space gives the design an almost architectural calm that suits a quiet wall.
A few principal roads meet near the administrative centre, forming the backbone of the map and linking the town to the wider North Region and the rest of Mayo-Rey.
Beyond the last residential blocks, the street network dissolves into tracks and fields, leaving generous white space that frames the town on every side.
Thin lines of seasonal streams cut through the surrounding land, reflecting the cycle of wet and dry seasons that defines life across the Mayo-Rey department.
