The Villages is a large, planned retirement community in central Florida, spreading across parts of Sumter, Lake and Marion counties. From above, it is unlike a conventional town. Winding residential streets loop around golf courses and retention ponds, cul-de-sacs branch off in every direction, and the pattern repeats across a very large area of former farmland.
Golf is central to the plan, with many courses woven through the neighbourhoods, and residents commonly travel by golf cart along dedicated paths and bridges. The community is organised around several town squares, including Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood, each with shops, restaurants and nightly music.
The Villages has grown rapidly over recent decades and is one of the largest retirement communities in the United States. A The Villages map poster captures that distinctive layout, with the curves of the streets, the green of the fairways and the scattered ponds forming an intricate, almost organic pattern.
Fairways run through and around the neighbourhoods, forming long ribbons of open space that give the map much of its structure.
Residential roads curve and loop rather than following a grid, producing a dense, flowing pattern that sets the community apart from typical towns.
Several town squares serve as local centres, each marking a distinct hub where the street network gathers around shops and gathering spaces.

The Villages is a popular gift for new residents, for grandchildren who visit and for anyone who has built a later chapter of life there. The street pattern makes a detailed, unexpectedly beautiful print.
Add a title, subtitle such as your village name or move-in date, and the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles and order HD files for $9 or a printed poster on matte paper, framed if you like.
