Tiwi is a municipality in the province of Albay, in the Bicol Region of the Philippines, on the coast facing the Lagonoy Gulf. The land rises inland toward volcanic hills, while the town centre sits near the shore. From above, the map shows a narrow coastal strip of settlement with roads following the shoreline and villages extending inland.
The coastline is the dominant line of the composition, with the gulf filling one side of the poster and the town and hills the other. The main road runs along the coast, linking Tiwi to neighbouring towns, while smaller lanes lead into barangays in the uplands. A Tiwi map poster shows a place defined by the meeting of sea, town and slopes.
Tiwi is known for geothermal energy. The Tiwi geothermal field, among the first to be developed in the Philippines, draws on volcanic heat beneath the area to generate electricity. The town has also long been known for its pottery. Its location in the volcanic landscape of Albay shapes both its economy and its terrain.
The coastline runs along one side of the map, a strong natural edge with the sea filling open space beside the town.
The main road follows the shore, forming a long line that connects the town centre with neighbouring communities along the coast.
Inland, the land rises toward hills where roads become sparse and winding, adding an organic texture to the edge of the poster.
