Turabah lies in the Mecca Region of Saudi Arabia, east of Taif, on the high plateau of the Hejaz. The town grew around an oasis along Wadi Turabah, a seasonal watercourse whose valley provided water and fertile ground in otherwise arid country. On a map, the wadi is the organising line for everything else.
Farms, palm groves and settlements stretch along the valley, while newer residential districts spread out on firmer ground nearby with more regular street patterns. Beyond, the land opens into desert and rocky hills, crossed by a few long roads.
The town is historically known as the site of the Battle of Turabah in 1919, a turning point in the rivalry between the Hashemites and the forces of Ibn Saud. A Turabah map poster shows the oasis as a green line through dry country.
The dry riverbed runs through the town, lined by farms and palm groves, forming a long, winding band that anchors the whole composition.
Planned residential areas with more regular streets spread across the higher ground beside the valley, contrasting with the older oasis pattern.
Long roads cross open desert and rocky hills to reach the town, giving the edges of the map a sparse, expansive feel.

Ko e hā ʻa Turabah
Turabah is a meaningful map for families from the town and for those interested in the history of the Hejaz. The contrast between the wadi's organic line and the open desert makes a strong wall piece.
You can add your own title and subtitle, including in Arabic, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as $9 HD files or a printed poster.
