Varash is a town in Rivne Oblast in northwestern Ukraine, built as the residential town for the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant. Until 2016 it was called Kuznetsovsk. Its layout is typical of planned Soviet energy towns: a compact core of apartment blocks arranged in microdistricts, with main streets curving between them.
The town sits near the Styr river in the forested Polissia region, and woodland surrounds it closely on the map. The power plant lies a short distance away, linked to the town by road, its large site clearly separated from housing by a belt of trees.
A Varash map poster shows how deliberately the town was placed: a tight residential cluster, the river and its floodplain, the forest, and the industrial site that explains why the town exists. The result is compact and very legible.
Apartment blocks are grouped into planned units with curving internal streets, forming the dense centre of the poster.
The Styr and its floodplain run near the town, adding a winding line and wetland shapes to the edge of the design.
The Rivne Nuclear Power Plant lies outside the town, separated by forest and connected by road, a large distinct shape on the map.

Ko e hā ʻa Varash
Many families moved to Varash to work at the plant, and people who grew up there often keep strong ties to it. A map of the town is a clear, personal memento of that shared history.
