Xai-Xai is the capital of Gaza Province in southern Mozambique, set on the Limpopo River a short distance from the sea. From above, the river dominates. It swings broadly through a wide, flat valley of fields and wetland, and the town sits on the higher ground beside it, with the national highway crossing the water on a long bridge.
Under Portuguese rule the town was called João Belo. The Limpopo has shaped its story: the valley is some of the most fertile land in the country, and it has also flooded severely, most notably in 2000. Toward the coast lies Praia do Xai-Xai, a beach known for its reef and dunes.
A Xai-Xai map poster brings these elements together. The broad bend of the Limpopo, the grid of the town centre, the causeway and the road toward the coast all read clearly in monochrome. Framed a little wider, the composition shifts from riverside town to estuary landscape.
One of southern Africa's major rivers winds past the town through a wide floodplain. Its curves and side channels become the central gesture of the poster.
Mozambique's main north–south road crosses the Limpopo here. On the map it is a single decisive line linking the town to the plain on the far bank.
A road runs from town toward the coast and Praia do Xai-Xai, where the land meets the Indian Ocean along dunes and a reef-lined shore.

Xai-Xai means something to those who grew up by the Limpopo or who stopped here on the long road along the coast. The river's shape makes the map expressive even in a small frame.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a hometown, a journey or a date. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and each treats the river and floodplain differently.
