Yanjing is a town in the Chongqing municipality in southwestern China, in the hilly countryside north of the main city. This part of the Sichuan Basin is made up of rounded hills, narrow valleys and small rivers, and the land has been shaped by generations of farming. Towns like Yanjing grew at points where roads and valleys meet.
