Streets shaped by slopes
Instead of a checkerboard, the centre is made of streets that curve with the hillsides, which gives the map a soft, organic look that is typical of Serra Gaúcha towns.

Carlos Barbosa Map Poster & Print
Carlos Barbosa sits in the highlands of Rio Grande do Sul, in the part of the Serra Gaúcha shaped by Italian immigrant settlement. From above, the town has no strict grid. Its streets follow the land, climbing ridges, curling around slopes and dropping into small valleys, so the centre looks like a loose knot of lines with farm roads leading out to the hills.
The town is known well beyond its size for two things. It is the home of Tramontina, the maker of kitchenware and tools, whose industrial sites show up as larger, regular blocks set against the finer street pattern. It is also a strong name in Brazilian futsal, thanks to a local club with a long record of national and international titles.
A Carlos Barbosa map poster shows this contrast between hill country and a working town. Dense streets gather at the centre, then thin out into winding rural roads. In black and white, the lack of a grid becomes the main feature: every line bends a little, and the terrain sets the rhythm of the whole map.

Industrial blocks
Large factory sites, including those linked to Tramontina, appear as broad regular shapes that contrast clearly with the smaller residential blocks around them.
Rural road network
Past the edge of town, narrow roads wind through the farmland and valleys, spreading thin lines towards the neighbouring communities of the region.
