Cherry Hill is a classic postwar American suburb, and its map shows it. Instead of a grid, most of the township is made of looping streets, crescents and cul-de-sacs grouped into separate neighbourhoods. The same year the Cherry Hill Mall opened, one of the first enclosed shopping malls on the East Coast. The Cooper River runs along the northern side, with a long park and a lake used for rowing.
