Romford is the main town of the London Borough of Havering, on the eastern edge of Greater London. From above, its centre is enclosed by a tight inner ring road, and the triangular Market Place sits in the middle, framed by older streets and newer shopping centres. Romford has held a market since the thirteenth century, and the market is still held in the town centre.
