Samal is a municipality on the eastern coast of the Bataan Peninsula, facing Manila Bay. It sits between Abucay and Orani, and on the map it forms a narrow strip between the bay and the rising land of the interior. The main coastal highway runs through the town, and most of its streets and barangays are strung along this line.
The shoreline side of Samal is lined with fishponds, which appear as a grid of rectangular shapes along the edge of the bay.
