Gueckedou Map Poster & Print
Guéckédou is in the Nzérékoré Region of southeastern Guinea, in the hilly, forested zone known as Forest Guinea. It lies close to where Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia meet. From above the town is a cluster of streets on uneven ground, with roads leading out through green countryside toward the neighbouring prefectures and the borders.
The town is well known in the region for its large weekly market, which draws traders from across the three countries. The land around it is covered by forest, plantations and small farms, and streams run through the valleys. Tracks wind between villages rather than following straight lines, because the ground is rarely flat.
A Guéckédou map poster shows a town shaped by hills and trade routes. The streets gather in a central core and then scatter along the roads, while the edges of the map dissolve into forest and farmland. The pattern is irregular and organic, and it makes a distinctive print for anyone from this corner of West Africa.
